Plants are an important source of inspiration for my work. A strong reference to my childhood spent in the natural landscape of southern Switzerland, where I often walked in the woods with my father and friends. Today I am drawn to the timeless beauty of flowers, often also withered or dried, an existential sign of the cycles of life. Colors are an important factor in my research and I am interested in the emotional sensations and symbolic references they convey.

Where do plants come from? How did plants react with the arrival of human beings on planet Earth? Reading and thinking about the coexistence of people and plants, I started working on an imaginary photographic story inspired by real facts from the evolution of plants. In this series, most of the photos are being shot in the woods of my native country and in the urban and botanical gardens of different european and american cities. The work has developed with an interaction between observation, fantasy and real history. In a more existential rather than scientific way, my aim is to address the history that will take the world into a post Anthropocene future.
