I have spent all my childhood in the natural landscape of southern Switzerland. I walked in the woods around my home and went for long hikes with my father, friends and school trips. Today I live in metropolitan areas and I observe and study plants mostly in urban gardens and parks.
People and Plants is an ongoing research inspired by real facts about the evolution of plants. A series of photos shot in my native country’s woods and in urban gardens of several metropolitan areas. This photographic project is constituted of interactions between observation, fantasy, and history. I want to take the viewers into a fabricated fable that begins with the evolution of the first plants, the advancements of flowering plants and eventually looks at people’s impact on nature, what we know today has ‘Anthropocene’ age.
Below are images from my first edit, visual journal, and research.
