Last update: 21 January 2019
I have spent all my childhood in the natural landscape of southern Switzerland where I walked in the woods around my home and went for long hikes with my father, friends and school trips. Today I live in big cities and my observation of plants has also focused on urban gardens and parks.
People and Plants is a fictional photo story of a world that is real and inspired by real facts about the evolution of plants. In this series, most of the photos are shot in my native country’s woods and in urban gardens of several metropolitan areas. This ongoing photographic project is constituted of an interaction between observation, fantasy, and history. I want to take the viewers into a made-up visual narrative that begins with the evolution of the first plants and flowers and hints at the humans’ impact on nature that has led us into the present Anthropocene age.
